Photography by Polina Filippova

Born in Nice in 1998, Alice Magne lives and works in Lyon. Graduated from the Villa Arson in 2023, with the highest honours, she claims an approach to painting that is conscious of its production process. She also graduated from Chelsea College of Arts in London in 2022, where she trained in textile printing based on sustainable and responsible approaches to textile design. This marked the beginning of her research into natural dyeing and her definitive commitment to an ecological approach. This commitment culminated in the writing of an ecological and responsible guide to painting. That same year, she was awarded the Musée International de la Parfumerie de Grasse prize for her dye research. In 2024, Alice Magne won the Eco-design Art Prize organised by Art of Change 21, in partnership with the Palais de Tokyo, and supported by the French Ministry of Culture and ADEME. With the sponsorship of Maison Ruinart and Maison Guerlain, members of the Cercle Art et Écologie at the Palais de Tokyo. This prize provides specialist training in eco-design, reinforcing her expertise on the subject. In 2024 she was also nominated for the Andurand Foundation's CLIMART Prize and the Ulrich Rampp Foundation's Art and Nature Prize. Her work is currently in several major private collections in France and internationally.
